#1 – You keep waiting around.
Waiting for the right circumstances. Waiting for a call back. Waiting till it “feels right.” Waiting for all the pieces to “fall into place.” Waiting for magic money to show up. Waiting for someone to recognize your talents and hand it you. I don’t know about you, but where I’m from we call this PROCRASTINATION!
#2 – You keep looking in the rear view mirror.
Your past doesn’t determine your identity! One of the biggest challenges in moving FORWARD and taking next steps in your life is BELIEVING that you are not who you once were…the reality is, if you don’t let your past die, then it won’t allow your dreams to live! Paul says in one of his books, “I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.” So in the most simple terms, stop looking backward, and start look FORWARD!
#3 – You keep viewing yourself through the lens of “THEY”
Well they said I was…They told me I couldn’t because… They believe…
Is it possible that you are more obsessed with what others think about you rather than what Jesus thinks about you? In order to accomplish your dreams, you are going to need a Healthy dose of Galatians 1:10.
#4 – You keep giving in to FEAR.
Nobody who ever accomplished their dreams had it easy. Do you not understand that God’s Holy Spirit lives inside of you, He is WITH YOU (Joshua 1:9) and He has called you to do something beyond your wildest dreams? (Ephesians 3:20)
If great fear has confronted you, that just means there is a great calling within you as well. So…Nurture FAITH…because this makes your calling bigger and more powerful than any fear that may arise.
#5 – You keep OBSESSING over things that have ZERO significance beyond YOURSELF.
If the end goal is to feel better, look better, be richer, be more popular, etc…then thats NOT a dream, that’s just vanity. At best, it’s a goal. But dreams are born within a person for the PURPOSE of changing the world around them. Making things BETTER. Question – what are you dreaming about today that will matter in 25 years? When a dream surpasses you and impacts eternity, THAT is something worth obsessing over!
