Letter From Bill Rose

October 12, 2016 - Blog -

Hey Oasis! I’ve got a few thoughts for you today…

#1 – First of all, it’s a crazy time in our church right now! There is so much happening all at the same time, and it’s SO hard to keep up with it all!

With that said, PLEASE TAKE TIME TO REST during this season! Do SOMETHING that fills YOUR tank. Chill out as often as possible. Have sex with your spouse. Go eat ice-cream. Carve a pumpkin. Say no to stuff. Sit on your couch. Go for a walk with your family. Stop running, going, doing and serving so much.

Seriously, before you read the rest of this, please put something relaxing on your calendar that is not church related.

#2 – I’m asking everyone in our church to take a few minutes to read John 16:21-22 and PRAY for Oasis as we prepare to MOVE TO HOLLY SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL!

There are so many who give and serve faithfully at Oasis, and as we enter this new season I foresee the crew becoming tired and weary. This verse speaks to the fact that like a mother delivering a child, the joy of having the child makes the temporary pain worthwhile. In the same way, what God is going to do in this new season at Oasis is totally worth the effort and the work required to accomplish it.

#3 – PLEASE REMEMBER – our LAST service at our current location (Holly Grove Middle School) is on Sunday, October 30th. On that LAST SUNDAY, we will ONLY HAVE 2 SERVICES at 9:15 & 11am. Yes, that’s right, we are only having 2 services on our last Sunday at the Middle School.

***If you would like to be baptized at our last service in the middle school, LET US KNOW!

#4 – WHEN ARE WE MOVING?

On Sunday, November 6, we will be having services at 9:15 and 11am at Holly Springs High School and we’re ALL pretty excited about it. The new facility is literally a stones throw away from our current one. It’s 5329 Cass Holt Rd, Holly Springs. You can’t miss it!

#5 – I absolutely LOVE our church and EVERYTHING that Jesus has been doing in peoples lives and families.  We recently finished up a series entitled, “Can’t Lose.” Here are a few takeaways from the series that I hope you’ll continue to deeply consider…

-You are the sum total of your relationships. I really do believe YOU CAN’T LOSE when you  a.) nurture your most important relationships,  b.) restore your broken relationships,  c.) sever the relationships that harm you, and  d.) initiate new relationships.  If you are interested in getting connected on a relational level at Oasis, join a circle!

Having a GAMEPLAN for your life is important. When you ask God for vision for your life, then you structure your life around that vision, it brings focus, endurance, and fulfillment. You CAN’T LOSE when you are committed to the gameplan God has for your life.

-You CAN’T LOSE when you pursue RACIAL RECONCILIATION. If we call ourselves children of God, then there is no room for prejudice, racial bias, or racism in our lives. We must do whatever it takes to identify our prejudices, humbly repent, seek to understand others, and LOVE ALL people, especially those who are different from us.

That’s all I have today, see you on Sunday!!!

Love you!

-Bil
